    The Chiefland Middle/High School Diamond Club will meet Monday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m. at the CMHS lunchroom.

    All members are asked to attend for very important vote on future project that will have a lasting affect on CMHS baseball.

    If your not a member but have interest in being one and supporting CMHS baseball, come and hear whats going on and join the group.

  • FWC lifts Santa Fe boating...

    Santa Fe River floodwaters at the Three Rivers gauge have fallen below 17 feet, allowing for the deactivation of boating restrictions that have been in effect on the river since July 12.

    The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) lifted the idle-speed, no-wake restriction on Zone 5, which runs from River Rise in O’Leno State Park west to the confluence of the Suwannee River. This 32-mile segment is an idle-speed, no-wake zone as long as the Santa Fe River is at 17 feet, as indicated on the Three Rivers gauge, where flood stage is 19 feet.

  • Chiefland Rotary fishing contest...

    The 2013 Chiefland Rotary Annual Fishing Tournament was held in Cedar Key in May with 50 boats entered and 28 attending the weigh-in. 

  • Baseball tryouts for Mustangs 12U

    The Mustangs 12U Competitive Travel Baseball Team is having tryouts for 2-3 openings on Aug. 11 and 18 at 4 p.m. at Diamond Sports Park.

    The Mustangs are headed to Cooperstown, N.Y., for an invitational national tournament in June 2014.

  • CAAA signups Saturday

    The Chiefland Area Athletic Association (CAAA) is having Football & Cheerleading Sign Ups On Saturday, July 20 and 27 from 9 a.m. to noon at Charles Strickland Park. 

    The first football practice will be Monday July 29 at 5 p.m.

    History Channel’s Swamp People is the highly acclaimed and wildly popular reality series that details the lives of several Cajun alligator hunters from Louisiana. The meet and greet autograph runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
