    Katherine “Kate” Houlker, 45, of Gainesville, died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, of lung cancer. She was born in Newport, R.I., and graduated from the Middletown High School in 1985.

    Catherine “Red” Groover, 83, of Otter Creek, died Sunday, Aug.14, 2011, at Cross City Rehab and Health Care Center.  Born in Levy County, she spent her life in the area.  She was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, her children and family, and was a member of Otter Creek Baptist Church.

    Shawn Timothy DuLong, 44, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at University Community Hospital, in Tampa.  He was born in Salem, Mass., and worked as a carpenter. He enjoyed the music of Grateful Dead, the mountains, the water and all of nature.

     Memorial Service

    A memorial service for William “Bill” Boyd Baker, will be Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Knauff Funeral Home, in Chiefland, with Father Joe McDonnell officiating. Mr. Baker was a retired CW4 (USARNG) and active in Citizens on Patrol.

    Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home, Chiefland.

    Rev. Dr. Clifford S. Edwards, 85, of Crystal River, died Friday, July 29, 2011,  after a lengthy illness. He was the only child of James and Vida Edwards of St. Catherine, Jamaica, and the former pastor of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, in Crystal River.
