Williston Indepedence Day Celebration

Williston will celebrate Independence Day Tuesday, July 3, with a parade at 5 p.m.
   This year's parade theme will be "made in America." Afterward, at 6 p.m., the gates of the Horseman's Park will open, with the opening ceremony starting at 7 p.m.
   There will be food, rides, booths and musical acts such as Javier Hernandez and the Shane Wooten Band. The evening will end with fireworks at about 9:30 p.m.
   The event is free, but remember to bring lawn chairs and blankets. No coolers or pets will be allowed through the gate.
   Anyone interested in being in the parade or who wants more information about the event should contact Cyndie McQuaig at 352-528-3060 (City Hall). The deadline for parade entries is Thursday, June 28, at noon. Anyone interested in having a booth should contact Mary Kline at the Chamber of Commerce at 352-528-5552.
