One arrested, another sought

The kids' money is missing, down a financial rabbit hole at an Illinois bank, but the Suwannee River Fair — with the help of Perkins State Bank — will see to it the 347 kids who sold animals at the March show get their checks later this week.
"They're going to get their money," said Loran Brookings, president of the Suwannee River Fair Association which puts on the annual youth livestock show and sale.
In the meantime, the Levy County Sheriff's Office has charged two men, both originally from Trenton,  with scheme to defraud.  Jeremy Pierce is sitting in an Illinois jail, and his business partner Ron Shepard, an ex-convict who served time on federal wire fraud charges in a similar scheme, is on the lam.
A Levy County judge has set the bail at $1 million.
