Synagogue extends hand to rural Jewish families

-A A +A

Temple Beth David, of Spring Hill, announces the “Yad” project.  Yad means hand in Hebrew.  The synagogue is reaching out to lend a hand to individuals and families that do not have access to a synagogue.

The foundation of this program is to offer online opportunities through video conferencing. Most churches or temples that use technology only use streaming, which allows members to view services or programs, much like watching television.  The Beth David Yad project uses both streaming and  video conferencing.  But for people who just wish to view, they can. Coupling video conferencing allows people to not only view but to participate live in the service and/or program.

The project, which offers a number of online opportunities, began operations in August.
