Springhouse Quilters: Nov. 18

-A A +A

Springhouse Quilters held their day group monthly meeting on Nov. 9 and at the end of the meeting there were several show and tell items on display. Mary Rawlins displayed one of the show and tell items. It was a quilt she made while visiting her daughter  in Tennnessee this summer. They together attended classes at the Campbell Art School. She and daughter both made a version of the old standby quilt, Log Cabin design.

The main difference was that color and width of strips was not always a problem. As the class progressed, there were many selections of fabric from a scrap pile, and after the strips were added to the blocks they were cut and rejoined as necessary to make the selection of fabric appear equal.

Springhouse Quilters always enjoy a social time together and sharing many quilting patterns and tips. The social time is before the monthly business meeting and is always filled with interesting quilting stories and enjoying a short tea and coffee time together.
