Shipp to run for county clerk

-A A +A

Hi! I’m Danny Shipp, your Clerk of Court.
I reside in Bronson with my wife of 37 years, Donna Wilkerson Shipp. We have two daughters, DeeJay, married to Chris Woods and Dana, married to Travis Lamb. We have four grandchildren, Kyle and Skylar Lamb, and Sarah and Emma Woods. My wife and I feel very blessed to have raised our family with the foundation of values only a community such as ours can provide.
I have always been concerned with the development and path of Levy County’s future. In the 80’s, I began serving you as a member of the Levy County Board of Adjustments. In 1988, I began employment with Levy County at the road department, later transferring to the Building and Zoning Department and became a certified building construction inspector through the Southern Building Code Congress International and hold my licenses with the Department of Business & Professional Regulation.
Shortly after being elected I obtained my Clerk Certification through the State of Florida Institute of Government and Florida Association of Court Clerks. I continue to maintain that certification through continuing education courses.
Serving as your clerk, I work diligently to improve the quality of service you deserve, providing the necessary advancements in technology in an efficient and cost effective manner. I apply the concerns of citizens, honesty, dependability, leadership skills, sound financial management, and uphold a commitment to accountability towards enhancing our community. Through the economic decline after the 9-11 attack, the rise and fall of mortgage and housing sales, along with the rising fuel costs I applied a strong financial leadership as well as meeting all Government State Statutes and state and local auditing requirements while endorsing the many changes and challenges throughout the Clerk’s Office.

Thank you for the privilege of serving as your Clerk of Court. It would be an honor to continue serving you and give back a portion of what my family and I enjoy from what a community such as ours offers. The challenges I have faced and experience gained through serving as Clerk has only strengthened my dedication to you. I will continue to serve and work hard for you, providing service to our community with dedication, honesty and dependability by making a positive, powerful difference, keeping the office customer based, and user friendly. I want to continue preserving our past, focus on our present and enhance a solid foundation for our future while making decisions with your best interest in mind in order to maximize our potentials.
