Scott stinks

-A A +A

I would almost put Gov. Scott and Terry Jones in the same category: people who should know better but still bumble along; unraveling in just a few months all the beneficial achievements for our state and country that others before them took years to accomplish.

Gov. Scott’s latest undertaking (there are so many. Don’t get me started on his attack on Citizen’s Insurance) is to ask the EPA to back off on Florida’s water rules because it would be too costly to implement.

OK, let’s repeal all its environmental laws. Watch as Florida’s natural environments slowly disappear as her beautiful tourist-attracting lakes and rivers dry up because we’re selling water rights to bottling companies and to other states, or because the water has become polluted with toxic algae blooms clogging the waterways, killing fish and sickening people.

Remember an article in the paper warning swimmers not to stir up the residue on the bottom of those ponds and lakes (especially in the warmer months) because of a horrible bacteria that could sicken and even kill you?

Yes, environmental rules step on a lot of toes.
