Reading about farms

 In Levy County, School Superintendent Robert Hastings kicked off Agriculture Literacy Day by reading Florida Farms at Work to 5th grade students  in Deborah Swilley’s classroom at Chiefland Elementary School.  Jeff Edison, Director of Administration, read to 1st grade students in Kristin Pomeroy’s class at Bronson Elementary School.  Dawn Nicolaus, School Improvement Coordinator, read at Joyce Bullock Elementary School. Carol Jones, Career & Technical Education Coordinator, joined Lacee Lane the 2010 Watermelon Queen at Williston Elementary School.  Lacee read the story and Ms. Jones assisted students in building a word wall and planting a small container garden for the classroom.
