Parity rules at Bronson Motor Speedway

BRONSON –One of these weeks, there's going to be a repeat winner at Bronson Motor Speedway.

But after the first three weeks of Saturday night racing at the high-banked 1/3-mile asphalt track, parity has been the rule.

Not one car hads revisted victory lane in any of the three car divisions.

In the Sportsman 30-lap feature, no one really had anything for race winner Matt Blum, the High Springs driver who pilots the 1 car.

Blum passed polesitter Jim Higginbotham in the 76 car on a restart on lap 6. From there, Blum was never seriously threatened.

Excitement arose on lap 12 when flagman Jim Durden threw red flag following an incident between the 32 of Shelton Bowers and the 02 of Mike Baker. Baker got squirelly coming out of turns one and two after contact with Bowers in a battle for third. Baker ended up spinning out. His temper got the best of him, as he refired and hunted down Bowers, intentionally ramming him.

Baker was disqualified for the night and Bowers was sent to the back of the pack.
