Henry Joel Melendez Prestol, 32, of Morriston, faces three counts of burglary, three counts of grand theft, six counts of dealing in stolen property, forgery and uttering a forged instrument according to a Levy County Sheriff's Office press release.
He was arrested after two horse farms in the Morriston area reported numerous thefts from January through March.
A burglary at Oak Ridge Training Center on Jan. 16 netted a laptop valued over $600.  On March 23, the Center was robbed again when someone used bolt cutters to cut a lock and take approximately 100 bags of horse feed.
A burglary at Big Lick Farm on March 29  resulted in four horse saddles and a pole saw being taken.
Sheriff's Deputy Scott Stancil received a tip that Prestol might be responsible for the thefts and he contacted the Criminal Investigations Division. Stancil, Sgt. Michael Narayan and Cpl. Mike Bell followed up leads and questioned Prestol on March 30.
