Judith Keffer Cooksey, 58, wife of current Bronson football coach Al Cooksey, died of an aneurysm on Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Cooksey's time as a basketball and softball coach at Williston High School from 1980 to 1983 capped a long career  teaching physical education and coaching student athletes in Florida.

But she made a tremendous impact both inside and outside the classroom, Mr. Cooksey said.

"She'd give you the shirt off her back. She's going to be greatly missed, not only by me," he said.

The couple was married for 25 years.

Mrs. Cooksey, a native of Logan, W. Va., was a four-year letter winner for the Florida State track team, and coached softball at the Sunshine State Games. She also coached softball and basketball at Aucilla Christian Academy in Monticello. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Mobile, Ala.

The couple also had homes in Jacksonville and Monticello.

Mr. Cooksey said that when they moved to Bronson and he started coaching the Eagles' football team, she was more than willing to cheer for her husband's new team.
