Iron Butts for Bucks charity motorcycle ride

May 23 ride helps needy residents

 After raising more than $1,500 for needy residents in the Tri-County Area last year, the Iron Butts For Bucks Team is at it again.

To continue the fund-raising effort, the team is coming together in May for another 1,000 miles in a less-than-24-hour event.

This ride will begin May 23, at 1 a.m., and will cover a minimum of 1,000 miles.

New for this year, you can follow a group of riders by utilizing the following GPS Real Time Tracking link: www.tricountytechnology.com/ironbuttsforbucks or www.ironbuttsforbucks.com.

As part of the IBA sanctions, the riders must keep strict documentation from beginning to end, as well as a documented itinerary of all fuel and rest stops. This is an endurance ride and not a race. The IBA rules are very strict and exclude any type of race as a certifiable ride. The team will be taking all necessary safety precautions to keep this ride as safe as possible. The team will consist of five riders. The pre-planned route will stay inside the Georgia state lines to follow the rules of the IBA Inside GA 1000 Miles Certification.

You can pledge monetary donations in one of two ways:

n Amount per mile;

n Or, a flat rate whether completed or not.

Checks can be written to AMVETS Riders 422. With your donation you will receive a certificate from the Iron Butts For Bucks Riders listing your name as a proud sponsor in your area. Your name or the name of your business will also be listed on the certificate of recognition given to each facility that possesses a donation recipient. If you choose to remain anonymous that, too, will be honored.
