GAINESVILLE - For all you do, this victory's for you Chiefland High football players, coaches, boosters, backers and fans.

After some bumps along the trail, things finally came together for the Indians against the P.K. Yonge Blue Wave.

It wasn't easy, but the Indian defense came through with one big play after another to secure an important 18-10 victory over host P.K. Yonge last Friday night.

The victory kept alive Chiefland's playoff hopes. The Indians must defeat Union County this Friday night and then hope that Yonge can upset Newberry, which clinched the Class 2B District 4 title with a win over Trinity Catholic.

If the above comes to pass, Chiefland would finish in a three-way tie for the second and final playoff spot along with P.K. and Trinity. That would result in a "Kansas Tiebreaker" between the three teams on Monday, Nov. 12.

While Chiefland (3-5 overall, 1-2 in district) showed balance against P.K. Yonge (4-4 overall, 1-2 district) Friday night, the defense stood in the spotlight after pitching shutout ball in the second half.
