CAAA needs donations for Saturday event

The Chiefland Area Athletic Association needs your help. We are getting ready to host our 19th Annual Halloween Carnival on Oct. 27. The event will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Strickland Park.

The CAAA sponsors this event in order to provide a safe and secure place for your child to Trick or Treat. The City of Chiefland, the Chiefland Police Department and the CAAA work together to host this event.

Children who are in costume are admitted free to the park while adults are charged $2. Once inside the children are able to play games, get all the candy that they can eat, and partiicipate in events such as mechanical bull riding and greased pig chasing. There's even a costume contest for all ages.

In order for us to put on this event we need your help. We need monetary donations, door prizes, and people willing to run the booths. The CAAA is a non-profit organization. This group is run by volunteers who donate their time, money and talents for the betterment of our children It is crucial that our community help us or this event will come to an end.

We realize that the economy plays a big part in what we do, but most anyone can volunteer an hour of their time. It will make a difference in a child's life.
