Great Suwannee River Cleanup on Saturday, Dec. 1

-A A +A

The next phase of the Great Suwannee River Cleanup sponsored by Current Problems Organization, will be Saturday Dec. 1, starting at 10 a.m.

Groups will deploy from three locations, Camp Azalea/Yellow Jacket, Fowlers Bluff and the Town of Suwannee.

The Friends and staff of the Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge with the help of other organizations will complete the River Cleanup.  Mark your calendar and spread the word to anyone who would like to join the cleanup.           There are jobs for folks to work on land at the staging areas to pass out materials and to weigh trash collected. Folks will be ferried to different spots along the river to collect trash. If you do have a boat , large or small, that you can bring let us know.

To participate, contact Ranger Pam Darty 352-493-0238 ex. 223. For planning, we need a rough count of who will participate.  The Friends Group will provide water and snacks.

Last year's effort was not only a fun day but a very successful day.
