Fight cancer with a ride

There's a touch of fall in the air so it's a perfect time to take a ride and help families battling cancer. 

BACK Fighting Cancer, Inc. -is sponsoring the 3rd Annual Kicking Cancer's Butt Poker Run on Saturday, Sept. 22. Registration is 9-10 a.m. at Deke's Steakhouse in Chiefland. Other stops are City Bar in Trenton, Fireside Grill in Cross City, Bubba's Place in Fanning Springs and the Seabreeze in Cedar Key. 

Registration is $15 per bike, which includes one hand and a free shirt. Each extra hand is $5 and each extra shirt if $10. The last bike out is at 10 a.m. and the last bike in is at 4 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be available and Steel Bridge will perform at the last stop. 

BACK Fighting Cancer, Inc., will use the proceeds to help families living in the Tri-County Area (Levy, Gilchrist, Dixie counties) who have a child 18 or younger battling cancer. These families can apply for a grant with the organization, BACK Fighting Cancer, Inc. to help with household/medical expenses regardless of income so they can focus on their child's battle with cancer.
