FDLE seeks help in solving homicide

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is seeking the public's help in solving a homicide dating from the '70s.

The agency posted on its Facebook page a request for information concerning a young California man James Norris, a.k.a. Richard Gunning, who came to Florida in October 1974 to  buy a quantity of marijuana His remains were found a year and a half later in the woods near Perry,  but not identified until 2011. 

FDLE investigators believe that there are still people in the area between Citrus County and Taylor County who may be able to shed light on this case and bring closure to the young man’s family.
