A strip of U.S. 27 A in Bronson was officially dedicated to the memory and service of Army Spc. James A. Page Friday morning in Bronson.
About 30 people, including family, friends and representatives from several state and local agencies, attended the dedication.
"You know, it's times like this when we look at the price people pay for our freedoms," said State Representative Leonard Bembry minutes before unveiling a new roadside sign about a mile south of the intersection of S.R. 24.
"We do very little as a country, as a state, to recognize that people pay the ultimate price."
Bembry, who helped push the bill to have the road named in honor of Page through both houses of the Florida Legislature, said he felt honored to be able to give something back.
"To the family, we appreciate what James stood for ... and we're determined to not let people forget that."
