Keeps mobile unit in Bronson

By Mark Scohier, Staff writer

These days, it's not just the unemployed who are having a hard time coming up with money. Even the people who help the unemployed find jobs are pinching pennies.
In October, CLM  Workforce Connection, located in Bronson, will be shutting down and moving to Chiefland.
Brenda Chrisman, a representative with the company, told the Bronson Town Council Tuesday night that the decision to move was based on funding issues. "Due to budget cuts," she said, "we need to streamline our processes." Workforce Connection can triple the number of people it serves by making the move, she said.
"But we're not just trying to walk away from Bronson," she told the council. Workforce Connection has purchased a mobile unit that could service the unemployed in Bronson two days a week, though it would need access to electricity to run the computers and other equipment that enable people to look for jobs online, build resumes or file for unemployment compensation benefits.
