Annual party at Strickland Park

   The Annual Easter Egg Hunt in Strickland Park is on Saturday, March 30,  from 9 a.m. to noon with hunts beginning at 10 a.m.. The event is sponsored by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services  and Haven Hospice of Chiefland. 

   There will be door prize drawings and photos with the Easter Bunny. This event is free.

   Participants are asked to bring their own baskets. Tickets can be picked up and children registered for this event by Wednesday, March 27 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, at 1301 N. Young Blvd. For more information, call 352-493-0050. 



Family activities at Faraway Inn

   There will be an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Faraway Inn on the corner of Third and  G Streets in Cedar Key. The event is sponsored by the Inn's owners, Doreen and Oliver Bauer. 

   The hunts will be done by age with ages 1- 5 having a Duck Hunt, ages 6 – 9 having an Egg Hunt and ages 10-13 having a pinata. 

   Other activities include glitter art tattooing (that lasts 3-10 days), hair spray coloring (that washes out) and a special appearance by the Easter Bunny. 

   The event is free and participants are asked to bring their own baskets. 



Seniors get in spirit

   There will be a free Easter Egg Hunt for all the kids and a fun day of activities with the residents of the Tri County Nursing Home & Rehab, a non-profit organization.

   The hunt on the grounds of the facility will start at 10 a.m. Friday, March 29, for children from the Tri-County Area of Dixie, Gilchrist and Levy counties.
