Boiled dinner at St. John the Evangelist
A traditional boiled St. Patrick’s Day dinner is on the menu at St. John the Evangelist Church in Chiefland, 4050 N.W. Highway 27A, going towards Bronson. The dinner — corned beef, cabbage, Irish potatoes, carrots, dessert and beverage — is served 5-7 p.m.  for $5 for children and $7 for adults. For information, call 352-493-9723.
Proceeds benefit the St. Vincent De Paul food closet. A donation of non-perishable food items is appreciated.

Antique Road Show
The Dunnellon-style Antique Road Show is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Dunnellon’s Historic Village. Appraisers Judy Schmutzer,  Will Moore, Diane Vose and Bob Miller will do appraisals at the Dunnellon Lions Club on Cedar Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $3 for one item, $5 for two and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Annie Johnson Center.

Withlacoochee Race and Rally
The Third Annual Withlacoochee Wilderness Kayak and Canoe Race and Rally will be at 9:30 a.m. The event, which starts at the By-Pass Spillway Park off CR 40 in Inglis, helps fund the efforts of the organization to protect and preserve Florida’s Nature Coast and its water sources for the benefit of everyone. Yankeetown-Inglis Republican luncheon
The Yankeetown-Inglis Republican Club is hosting a Lincoln Luncheon fundraiser that starts at noon at the Inglis Community Center behind City Hall. Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida Dave Bitner is the guest speaker. Tickets are $10 for club members and $15 for non-members. There is limited seating, so advanced purchase is required. County Fair Karaoke Contest
 The Levy County Fair's Karaoke Contest continues on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hickory Island Lodge in Inglis. You must be 21 to enter the lodge. On Sunday, a contest will be at Coconuts in Cedar Key at 1 p.m. On March 27, there will be a contest at the Masonic Lodge in Williston at 1 p.m.

American Legion Turkey Shoot
There will be at turkey shoot at the American Legion Post 383 in Old Town beginning at 11 a.m. Contestants only need to bring their guns because ammo will be provided, as well as burgers and hot dogs for lunch. Prizes will be awarded for the winners.

March 22

Hiers-Baxley anniversary reception
Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services in Chiefland is hosting an anniversary open house from 4-7 p.m. The event is open to the public and will feature local freehand artist, "Mr. Doodles," an appetizer reception and ongoing tours of the facility. Old Time Fiddle & Folk Concert                                                                                 
Ed and Geraldine Berbaum perform an old-fashion “down home” concert at 6 p.m. at Otter Springs Park and Campground. The concert is appropriate for all audiences. Snacks are available. Concert admission is $1 per person for ages 60 and over, $2 per person ages 6-59, free for ages 5 and under.

Shiloh Cemetery Spring Cleaning
The public is invited to the Shiloh Cemetery Association's Spring Cleaning from 8 a.m. to noon. There also will be a public forum at the cemetery from 10-11 a.m. to provide a brief progress report and to address any questions about the cemetery's operations. Levy Tourist Council meeting
The Levy County Tourist Development Council will have their bi-monthly meeting at 6 p.m. at the Levy County Visitor's Bureau, 620 N. Hathaway Ave., Bronson. The meeting is open to the public.

April 2

Relay for Life softball tourney
There will be a Relay for Life softball tournament in Dixie County. Th cost is $100 per co-ed team. The fee and a list of team members are due by March 25. For more information, call 352-542-7110 on Tuesdays through Fridays.

April 7

Haven memorial service
The Haven Hospice Love and Remembrance Memorial is 6 p.m. at the Haven Hospice Tri-Counties Care Center, 311 N.E. 9th Street, in Chiefland.  The memorial is open to anyone in the community who has lost a loved one. Attendees are encouraged to bring pictures and mementos of loved ones that can be placed on our Table of Memories. Refreshments will be served. April 9

       Vendors sought for  plant show
Plans are underway for the 4th annual Green Thumb Plant Show in Dunnellon’s Historic Village from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Vendor spaces are $40 if the application received before March 9.  Information-only booths are free. The event is sponsored by the Historic Village Shops of Dunnellon. For information, contact Nancy at 352-208-6789.   

CFEC Relay for Life Golf Tourney
The Central Florida Electric Cooperative is hosting the 3rd Annual Relay for Life Golf Tournament at the Chiefland Golf and Country Club. There will be breakfast starting at 7 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Cost is $150 per four-person team and includes green fees and carts, plus competitions for the longest drive, straightest drive and closest to the pin. Walking club (Tuesdays/Thursdays)
