n First UMC hosts epic summer bash
   First United Methodist Church Chiefland will host the First Epic End of Summer Bash on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free and open to the community.
   In addition to free food and drinks, there will be games, children's clothing tent (K-12), kids' fingerprinting and haircuts, Jumpy House and wet slide, games and more.

n Archer UMC holds block party
   Archer United Methodist Church, located at 17121 S.W. 137th Ave., in Archer, will host a free block party Friday, July 22, from 6-8 p.m.
   For the past six months, various committees have been planning the event, “C’mon Board, Celebrate Jesus.” Last week, members from those committees took to the streets of Archer to personally invite residents to the block party.
   In addition to food, games and prizes, there will be music and entertainment to keep the night rolling, a mini train for children, Several groups, including the LifeSouth Blood Mobile, Zumba, the Archer Historical Society, area churches and representatives from Santa Fe College.
