Chiefland FFA member makes state finals

-A A +A

Chiefland Senior FFA Chapter had a state finalist this year.  Sarah Edison, a sophomore, competed at the Florida State FFA State Convention this past June.  She competed in the Agriscience Fair in the Botany category.  Her project was “Tomatoes Don’t Lie, Your pH is High!”  During her experiment she tested tomato plants to see what happens when they are grown in a soil with a higher pH than the recommended range.  She went through an interview process prior to the judging of her project.  The judges asked Sarah questions about how she carried out the experiment.  She won the Botany division and now she gets to move on and compete at the national contest at the National Convention in Indianapolis this October.
