CFCC offers classes

Central Florida Community College will hold information sessions for Health and Human Services programs - including nursing, physical therapist assistant, surgical technology - which have no waiting lists for admission.

"There are no waiting lists for the nursing programs, as some residents believe, and there are options for part-time, full-time, and evening/weekend classes," said Dr. Mark Paugh, dean for Health and Human Services. "Students from our tricounty service area of Marion, Citrus and Levy counties are accepted into nursing programs before any consideration can be given to out-of-district applicants."

CFCC offers both the Associate Degree in Nursing, which qualifies graduates to apply for registered nurse (RN) licensure, and Practical Nursing certificate, which qualifies graduates to apply for LPN licensure.

"No pre-registration is required for the free sessions which are required for enrollment in any of our Health and Human Services programs," Paugh said. "The sessions provide information on admissions criteria, program requirements, cost and more."
