Cedar Key, Beacon fishing columnist featured on TV

Cedar Key Beacon fishing columnist Capt'n. Danny Allen and his hometown are the starts in a nationally televised show on the Pursuit Channel and NBC Sports Network on Feb. 12 and 26.

"Tidal Adventures" is a 25-minute show, sponsored by the Levy County Visitors Bureau, that showcases the world-class fishing in and around the Cedar Keys.

Allen takes TV host John Brownlee to fish oyster beds and grassy flats along the barrier islands where they target world-class redfish and speckled trout. This episode combines great fishing action with the Old Florida atmosphere that is unique to Cedar Key.

The show airs on the Pursuit Channel on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 14, at 1 p.m.; and Sunday, Feb. 16 ay 3: 30 p.m.

It also airs on the NBC Sports Network on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 2:30 p.m.

Capt'n. Allen, of Gulf Coast Flats Fishing Charters writes a weekly fishing column for the Chiefland Citizen's sister publication, the Cedar Key Beacon. 

The Levy County Visitors Bureau has worked with Bonnier Corporation to facilitate production of the show. The show is designed to attract tourists to Cedar Key and Levy County to experience the fishing, the dining and the lifestyles of the coastal and rural areas. 

The Pursuit Channel is available on Dish and Direct TV and NBC Sports airs on cable and the setallite networks.
