Bronson holds on water and sewer ordinances

-A A +A
By Mark Scohier, Staff writer

Bronson officials say they still don't have enough information to make a decision on proposed fees regarding water and sewer connections for new applicants.

After discussions over proposed ordinances and resolutions on fees Monday night, town council members voted 4-1 in favor of tabling them until more information could be looked at.

Council Member Berlon Weeks made the first objection to passing the new fees, adding that he knew they had already been tentatively approved.

"I really want you guys to think about the capacity fees," he said, explaining that they would be the same for a large corporation that decided it wanted to set up shop within town limits.

Weeks said he didn't understand why capacity fees had been made available by consultants while fees for water and sewer rates had not.

Town Clerk Kelli Brettel said the rate study had just been provided to her by the town's consultant a few hours prior to the night's meeting.
