Bronson girls fall to Oak Hall

BRONSON –Playing in a tough district and refusing to quit, the Bronson High Lady Eagles keep improving, little by little.

Following a much improved game against Trenton, which the Lady Eagles lost 68-37, they traveled to Oak Hall to play the well-organized maroon Eagles, led by senior Coral Denton.

Difficulty in scoring consistently and trouble with turnovers led to Bronson's 63-29 downfall to Oak Hall.

Oak Hall pushed up a 38-15 lead at the half, largely on the runaway scoring of Denton in the paint and Neale outside the arc. The two had 18 points between them in the first quarter, but Denton exploded for 11 in the second.

Bronson had a great scoring and rebounding presence in Elizabeth Gay, who averages 21 points and 17 rebounds, but she was eternally pasted with maroon and white uniforms whenever she got the ball. Bronson's scoring chill was evident in the first quarter when Gay finally broke her early scoring drought for Bronson's only field goal of the period. She warmed up and scored six of the blue Eagles' 13 second quarter points, while Jessica Thomas had four points and Angel Mitchem added a big three.
