New head football and basketball coaches excited to lead their respective programs

By Ryan Butler

New Principal. New stadium. New coaches. New hope.

After a brutal 2011-2012 season for the Bronson Middle/High School sports teams, a new era is exactly what the Eagles need.

With losing records in football and basketball, new can only mean improvement.

Bronson’s new head basketball and new head football coach both bring a new attitude to their respective programs. Both are young, hungry and excited about the potential at BMHS.

It begins with a new attitude.

“We got to teach the team how to win,” said basketball coach Mickey Ebert, “We’re not going to talk so much about winning but about preparation.”

Ebert was hired by former Williston principal John Lott at the beginning of the current school year and served as an assistant to the basketball team. When Lott transfered to lead Bronson this school year, Ebert, 31, was a logical choice to lead the basketball program.

Ebert will try to pick up the legacy of former coach Kelly Beckham, who registered over 500 wins at the school.
