Levy County Sheriff's Deputy Charles M. “Chuck” Johnson Jr., resigned Thursday morning just hours after a disciplinary review board decided he should be terminated after a new complaint arose that he had a sexual encounter with a pregnant married woman in the driveway of his Bronson home.

The termination recommendation came after the board heard that Johnson invited the woman to his house to watch a movie, consumed liquor, hugged and kissed her, and reportedly opened her pants despite her objections, penetrated her digitally, exposed himself, attempted to consummate a sexual act with her, and then masturbated in the driveway.

“He does remember she said 'no, no, no',” said Capt. Evan Sullivan, the officer who investigated the complaint by the man's wife.

Sullivan said the woman's husband filed a complaint on Oct. 21 claiming Johnson was seeing his wife. Sullivan took a sworn statement from the woman who said she did not want to file criminal charges against the deputy.
