BHS Homecoming Reunion set for Nov. 11

Special to the Citizen
In December of 1859, the Levy County Board of Commissioners ordered the establishment of a public school in Bronson. In 1916, a two-story brick school building was built where the old BHS cafeteria sat. In the late 1930’s, that building was torn down and the current main school building was constructed. Bronson is the oldest public school in Levy County still in existence.
Throughout that time, BHS has seen great times and sad times, but through it all BHS has remained true. It has been the starting point for many people, a cornerstone in the construction of all our lives, and it holds many treasured memories. Our small school has produced doctors, lawyers, politicians, preachers, bankers, farmers and teachers. Our children, parents and grandparents have walked those wooden floors. It has given us guidance for our futures, structure for our present, and nostalgia for our past. No matter where we go, what we do, or who we become we will forever be Bronson Eagles.
It is based on this heritage and love of Bronson High School that a special event has been planned, the 2011 BHS Homecoming Reunion.
