The scoreboards wouldn't sync Friday night, with one telling time and the other one telling zeros, but anyone with eyes could see that for 32 minutes, Chiefland boys' matchup with P.K. Yonge was anybody's game, right up until the buzzer said, “P.K. wins, 63-54.”
It was that close.
Nothing other than a complete game from every Chiefland player would have come close, and the Indians did it, from consistent defense to ball movement to finishing shots and rebounding.
