    The club’s fundraiser will be held Friday, Feb 28. Purchase BBQ pork, baked beans, cole slaw, roll and dessert for $8. Delivery to your place of business or pick-up available at the First Baptist Church of Chiefland's fellowship hall.  Proceeds go toward helping support CMHS baseball teams.     Lady Indians Coach Brian Gore says the girls’ basketball team is not finished for the year, that they are not settling for their first 1A District 7 win in a number of years. 

  • Panthers blemish Indians’ record

    LECANTO — It was fitting that, on Lecanto’s senior night, it was Panther seniors, along with a freshman, who played an indispensable role in helping their team accomplish something no other Chiefland opponent has done against the Indians this season: get a win.

    Freshman Kaine McColley poured in 15 second-half points, while seniors Ronnie Crowe and Thomas Vilardi added 11 apiece in the half to lead their Panthers to a 65-57 come-from-behind victory in the LHS gym Friday.

  • Lady Indians begin District...

    The District 6-1A girld basketball playoffs begin Tuesday, Jan. 28, at host school Williston High, but the Chiefland Lady Indians who are 8-90 in District and 9-1 for the season will not play until Friday, Jan. 31, at 6 p.m.

    The Chiefland team, coached by Brian Gore and Jason Whistler, will face the winner of Tuesday's game between No. 4 Dixie County and No. 5 Union County. If Chiefland wins the game they will advance to the champinship game on nSaturday at 7:30 p.m.

  • Indians play Lecanto Panthers...

    The Chiefland Indians boys basketball team goes undefeated into a game against the Lecanto Panthers who have a 12-7 record this season and 8-3 at home.  Lecanto is a Class 5A team while Chiefland is a 1A team. 

    Chiefland, with a 19-0 record is ranked in the Top 5 in statewide Class 1A standings by MaxPreps.com.

    The game come one day after Chiefland defeated the Trenton Tigers 68-37 in a home game. 

    The game begins at 7 p.m. at Lecanto. 

  • Senior night at CMHS starts at 6...

    The Chiefland Indians and Lady Indians have had a good run this basketball season and are advancing to 1A District 7 playoffs with both undeafeated in District play.
