• The Chiefland High School Student Government would like to express our thank you to the following individuals and businesses for their support of our 22nd Annual Pie Auction.

  • This year, the Florida Legislature explored the option of expanding Medicaid coverage in our state. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) requires states to expand Medicaid coverage to everyone below 138 percent of the federal poverty level. Last summer, the U.S. Supreme Court issued the opinion that Medicaid expansion would not be mandatory, but rather, each state could decide whether it was in its best interest to expand. As incentive to expand fully, the Obama Administration and Congress promised full federal funding for three years.

  • In 1952, I came home from boot camp just in time to get in on a cattle trapping, cattle roping and cattle shooting deal in a rough pasture south of the St. Lucie Canal.

  • This year, the Florida Legislature passed a budget I believe is an extremely positive step for our state. The state’s budget is a result of months of work and meetings between legislators and the general public. The result is a fiscally responsible budget that makes strong financial investments in our state’s future without having to raise taxes on Florida’s families or businesses.

  • Thanks for the support

  • Harmony Pregnancy and Resource Center would like to thank the following businesses and individuals for making the 2013 Doris Nash Memorial Golf Tournament such a success:

  • It's no secret that if you don’t work for Levy County, Levy County schools, the dollar store, the grocery or the seven eateries in Bronson, you may as well leave town to find employment.

  • On March 6th we spent the night at the Chiefland Best Western Hotel while on our way to Tarpon Springs. Being retired military, we always look for a VFW or American Legion. We found very nice and welcoming people at the VFW and thank them for a very enjoyable evening.

  • Chiefland threw itself a birthday party and it was a doozey. Thank yous are in order, but where to begin? And the list is mighty long.   The prayer rally packed First Baptist Church of Chiefland which stepped up to hold the gathering after the weather terrorists promised ugly storms last Thursday. No storm, but it was a nice setting.

  • A couple of weeks ago was surely the worst imaginable for Chiefland Middle School Principal Darby Allen.

  • Levy County home owners, when Gov. Scott was campaigning, he promised to bring 80,000 new jobs to Florida. What he really meant was he was going to bring 80,000 cows to Florida to finish off the springs and rivers.

  • The Divided
