• The theme for the 2014 Relay For Life of The Tri-Counties will be “Hunting for a Cure,”  chosen by those in attendance at the Relay Round-up meeting on Oct. 17.  We are so excited to see what is ahead for this new relay season knowing the goal is to save lives and create more birthdays.

  • More than 100 motorcycle riders cruised their way through the scenic and rural roads and highways of Levy County Saturday in an effort to raise money for the Levy ARC.

    Proceeds from the sale will go to support Stop Hunger Now, a meal packaging event March 1.

  • The 4th Annual Kicking Cancer's Butt Poker Run was Saturday, Sept. 28, starting in Chiefland and winding its way through Levy, Gilchrist and Dixie counties before making its final stop in Cedar Key. 

  • A full house of big hearts at the Third Annual “Hutch” Hutchinson Legacy Poker Run recently raised  $1,500 to  benefit Haven Hospice patients and families in the Tri-County area.

  • The Chiefland Rotary Club celebrated Flag Day, June 14, a little early with a presentation on the meaning of and how to properly fold a flag by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5625 Honor Guard on June 12.

    Club Vice President Stewart Wasson also gave a presentation on the history of Flag Day and provided the group with interesting facts about the American flag.

    The members of the Honor Guard are Kary Colson, Jacob Wynn, Bud Allen, Joe Elko and Dennis McIntyre.
