 If I may respond to Mr. Harris’s letter of rebuttal on the Tarmac Mine.
 The economic information I related, was extracted from a 53-page, economic impact study prepared by Dr. Richard Weisskoff,  senior professor in Economics, University of Miami,  "Economic Impact of Mining on Levy County, Florida – A Strategic View.”
The Hurricane information was provided by sources such as NOAA and the National Hurricane Center which I researched, readily available to all.

Well, I guess we don’t need a hospital. Noel Desmond says so.
You know what, I am so tired of going to Gainesville for a chest X-ray or a lot of things we could get right here. It costs me $30 for gas.  And it’s a $35 co-pay from my insurance, plus lunch for my daughter, who has to take me on her day off. It’s the same mileage to Crystal River or Williston.

 I appreciate your thorough coverage of community events and happenings.  Your publication has served to encourage good will and good health in the tri-county area. In that regard, let me encourage your readers to acknowledge and participate in Tobacco Free Florida Week (March 28–April 2).

Last year I acquired property in Inglis, a nice area with delightful residents. I am horrified by the Tarmac project proposed, which will destroy our rural lifestyle.
I’ve had numerous alerts concerning the water in this area and feel the project will endanger the supply further.
Living near the highway, the noise from additional trucks will destroy our community. The traffic now is within reason, but adding a thousand trucks a day will make this a very dangerous area. Unbearable!
