This is the week for candidates to qualify for the Aug. 30 party primaries ballot and the way things look there will not be a Democratic ballot. That's because most of the candidates for county and state office are either Republicans, in nonpartisan races or have no party affiliation.
Qualifying for federal, statewide, multicounty, county, and special districts opened at noon on Monday, June 20, and it closes at noon on Friday, June 24. Paperwork can be submitted to the Levy County Supervisor of Elections Office at 421 S. Court Street in Bronson.
