       WE SOAR, Inc./Gospel Fest Committee is inviting soloists, choirs, ensembles, instrumentalists, quartets, dance and mime ministries and Christian step teams to participate in the 10th Annual Williston Gospel Music Festival  on Friday, Aug. 5 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 6,  2 p.m. –6.p.m. This event is a celebration and promotion of traditional, contemporary, rap, and southern style gospel music.

       The College of Central Florida, Chiefland Police Department and the Chiefland Chamber of Commerce are looking for businesses and civic organizations to participate in this year's National Night Out on Aug. 2 from 6-8 p.m. on the grounds of the Chiefland Chamber of Commerce. National Night Out brings neighbors together and shows criminals that the community is organized, educate and is taking a stand against crime.

       Suwannee Valley Players is proud to announce the opening of the Summer Youth Workshop production of Pollyanna, adapted by Susan Pargman, and produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc., Englewood, Colo. This is the delightful, classic tale of the greatest optimist of all time: Pollyanna. But it's much more than that. It's the story of how a little girl's faith in her father's promise that  good can be found in anything that happens guides her steadfastly through circumstances that most adults would find formidable.

    4-H Summer Camps
    The Levy County 4-H hosts a variety of camps at the Bronson Agricultural Center this summer. Campers must be at least 8 years old by the date of the camp. The cost is $25 per camp or $50 for ATV camp. Camps are Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Camp fee includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, field trips and recreation.

  • Court Dispositions

       The following persons were sentenced, found not guilty or the case nolle pros — dropped — in the Criminal Division of the 8th Circuit Court in Levy County. The information is taken from public records. VOP means violation of probation.
    n Tonya Boyatt, fraud and grand theft, 24 months with credit for 46 days served on each; VOP on dealing in stolen property, probation revoked, 24 months with credit for 104 days served, served concurrently. Must pay civil judgment and $926.65 restitution.
