Last Saturday, instead of hunting or fishing, I took a morning run with a friend. We both were not feeling too good because we had run a little harder the day before, so we cut a planned 8-mile run down to 7 miles. I had also just joined my wife and daughter in a detox diet the day before and was craving my jelly beans or something sweet really bad. It was not a good morning.
The Cedar Key School Glee Club rocks a full house with their raucous rendition of “Lean on Me” during “An Evening of Excellence 2011." The event, sponsored by the LevyCounty Schools Foundation, celebrated the Levy County Teacher of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Education Staff of the Year.

The Dixie County Historical Society will be hosting another evening of Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel music for your enjoyment on Saturday May 7, at the Old Town Elementary School Auditorium, located at SR. 349 and CR 55A. There will be other bands performing as well. The music will start at 6 p.m. and will finish when the music stops. Admission is free, so bring the family and enjoy.
