• Sisters' argument ends in shooting

        A disagreement between two sisters over a minor relative's care ended with a gunshot and the shooter in jail, while the other was treated and released from the hospital, according to a Levy County Sheriff's Office press release.

  • Sheriff's checkpoint issues 13 tickets

        On Friday, Sept. 2, the Levy County Sheriff’s Office, together with Inglis and Chiefland police departments with equipment borrowed from the City of Williston, conducted a DUI checkpoint in Inglis as part of the national "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign. This campaign was to reduce and eliminate impaired driving on our roadways. 

  • Reward

       A $500 reward is being offered to anyone with knowledge leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for multiple acts of vandalism at Scoggins Chevrolet in Chiefland sometime during the Labor Day weekend.

       Chiefland Police Chief Robert Douglas said the culprits stole hubcaps and the emblems off of tailgates.

    n Otis Evan Oliver, petit larceny first offense, 2 counts of fraud by uttering false instrument, petit larceny second conviction, nolle pros; two counts of forgery by altering public record, certificate, and two counts of fraud by impersonation, 36 months with credit for 78 days served on each, served concurrently.
