  • Sheriff's Reports

    There were four more people arrested by the Levy County Drug Task Force recently. This group of suspected drug law violators resulted from undercover drug buys in the Bronson area.

    These suspects include a minor. Any minor charged with a felony can have his or her name published. Following are the most recent arrests:

    * Lauren Nuse, 17, of Williston was arrested Nov. 1 for possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to sell, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

  • Police arrest woman suspected of drug possession

    A 32-year-old Chiefland woman was arrested Oct. 29 after Chiefland Police Officer Calvin Hardge discovered drugs in a car, according to records.

    Melissa Hamil was in a car driven by Shanda Lamb-Makatura, 31, of Old Town when Hardge saw it leave "a known drug area," in the 200 block of Southwest Fourth Avenue.

    The driver made turns without signaling and she turned in an opposite direction from the way she signaled. Hardge pulled over the driver, whose license was not valid, the officer noted in his report.

  • Reward offered

    The Cedar Key Aquaculture Association is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person, or persons, who vandalized the parking lot at the Anchor Hole on the corner of Gulf Boulevard and Hodges Avenue.

    An additional $500 will be given when the person, or persons, is convicted.

    The person who provides this information to the Cedar Key Police department will not be identified.

  • Levy County Sheriff's Report

    BRONSON - Another student was arrested on the charge of making a false report of planting a bomb or explosive device, according to records.

    Tyler Ryan Baker, 15, of Williston was arrested at Hilltop Alternative School (HAS) in Bronson on Oct. 22 by Levy County Sheriff's Office Sgt. James M. Long.

    A 24-year-old Bronson man was arrested Oct. 18 by Investigator Joseph Sabbag of the Levy County Sheriff?s Office on the charge of dealing in stolen property.

    Bond was set at $25,000.

    Other people who were accused of crimes and arrested by LCSO deputies include:

    Samuel Otis White, 24, of Bronson was arrested Oct. 15 for dealing in stolen property, and he was arrested Oct. 16 for two counts of grand theft auto. Bond $30,000.
