    The Levy County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:
    n Dec. 26–Robert William Bernstein, 45, Bronson. Lewd/lascivious offense on victim under 12. Bond $100,000.
    n Dec. 25–David Timothy Booher, 53, Williston. Retail theft. Bond $5,000.
    n Dec. 23–Eric Alan Burke, 25, Trenton. Robbery with a firearm, evidence destroying. Bond $110,000.
    n Dec. 26–Boyd Iris Chisolm, 50, Chiefland. Criminal mischief. Bond $10,000.
    n Dec. 26–Joshua Lee Clarke, 29, Inglis. Domestic battery. Bond $15,000.

  • Two arrested in drug cases

    Two men, one from Chiefland and another from Gainesville were arrested on drug charges in unrelated cases.
    Melvin Alday, 76, of Chiefland was arrested by Levy County Drug Task Force Agent Jay Bolton on Dec. 2 and charged with the sale of 19.1 grams of Vicodin to a confidential source in August 2010, according to a Levy County Sheriff's press release. The quantity is large enough to charge Alday with trafficking. His bond is $ 50,000.

     •Phillip E. Alexander, sexual offense-incest, 5 years with credit for 118 days, sexual assault with a minor, 15 years, both served concurrently;  three counts of possession of obscene material, 15 years on each, each served consecutively. Designated a sexual offender. Must pay civil judgment.

     The Levy County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:

  • Four arrested for drugs in Cedar Key

       Four people were arrested Tuesday for dealing drugs out of their Cedar Key homes, according to the Levy County Sherif's Office.  The arrests were the result of a three-month investigation, which was aided by information from a confidential source.
       The sheriff's department says Richard Cantlebarry and Geneva Harris were selling morphine pills out of their home, located at 517 2nd Street.  

  • Man dies while cast fishing

       A Newberry man casting for fish in the Suwannee died after becoming entangled in the cast net he was using off a dock.
       The Dixie County Sheriff's Office said the family of Chad Eric Holder, 36, reported finding his body in a canal behind their residence on Saturday, Oct. 14.
