    The Levy County Sheriff  Office reports the following arrests:
    n July 18, Jack Smith Jr., 41, DUI alcohol or drugs.
    n Oct. 10, Kenneth Purdom, 22, High Springs,  two out of county warrants.
    n Oct. 14, Samuel Scott Deloach, 40, disorderly intoxication in public place causing disturbance. Bond $1,000.
    n Oct. 14, Kathryn Jane Shroka, 25, two out of county warrants. Bond $12,000.
    n Oct. 15, Rachael Lynn Gilbert, 38, Gainesville, DUI alcohol or drugs. Bond $5,000.

    n Oct. 3, Joseph Barr, 30, Chiefland, battery. Bond $30,000.
    n Oct. 5, Jerald Samuel Billups, 35, Inglis, trespassing. Bond $2,000.
    n Oct. 3, Joseph Boleman, 28, Morriston, schedule marijuana. Bond $25,000.
    n Oct. 9, Howard Eugene Brown, 48, two counts battery. Bond $30,000.

  • CORRECTION

    Due to an error by the Levy County Sheriff’s Office the Chiefland Citizen on Sept. 8 incorrectly reported the charges against Donna Murphy. She was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and domestic battery.

  • Car chase ends in murder suspect's arrest

    Wednesday evening's rush hour took on new meaning as a murder suspect tore through downtown Williston, running vehicles off the road, hitting speeds of up to 100 mph and going the wrong way up Highway 27,  all the while leading about 20 law enforcement vehicles.

  • Robbery at Tackle Box in Fanning Springs

    A Saturday robbery at the Tackle Box in Fanning Springs might have a clerk questioning the cost of good customer service.
    The clerk, according to the Levy County Sheriff's Office, had just locked the front door to tend to business in the back of the store when he heard someone at the front door. He let the man in and went around the counter to serve him.

  • Pistol class for Sheriffs Volunteers

    The Levy County Sheriffs Office will sponsor a concealed weapons permit class Oct. 8, beginning at 8 a.m. at the Levy County Sheriffs Office Classroom, 9150 N.E. 80th Ave., Bronson. The cost will be $55 dollars or $70 dollars depending on what package you chose and you can sign up by calling 352-486-5111, or email sfinnen@levyso.com., or register at www.Levypistolclass.info.
       Registration on the day of event will cost an extra $10.
