A routine traffic stop for a tag light that was not working led to the arrest of a Palm Harbor man on charges of possession of about a pound of marijuana and over $7,000 cash and a recommendation you don't hire him to be your house sitter.

Bobby Dale Burnett, 28, was driving a 1999 Dodge Durango stopped by Chiefland Police Officer F. Macy at about midnight on August 7 in front of the Pizza Hut on Young Boulevard for the broken tag light.

David Maxwell Williams, 55, Southeast 55th Court, Inglis, probably wishes he had asked for a divorce a little differently.

According to a police report, Williams and his wife were sitting on the couch when he said they were going to get a divorce and she said she wanted to talk about it.

Williams then pushed her head down to the floor, but she got back up and sat next to him, according to the report. He pushed her to the floor again, this time on her back and held her down until she kicked him in order to get up, the report said.

_ Stephen T. Siddons, 18, Northwest 106th Court, Chiefland, is charged with lewd or lascivious molestation of a child, burglary of a structure and grand theft. Bond is $35,000 on all the charges. The sheriff's office report says he kissed and fondled a 5-year-old child. A second report says Siddons is accused of breaking into a shed and taking a flat-screen TV, a stereo and another item.
