Nola Chubb, 61, who is charged with aggravated negligent manslaughter and abuse against and elderly or disabled person in the March 31, 2006, death of her mother Angelina Mattioda is still awaiting trial.

Chubb, a licensed practical nurse, was charged in June 2006, but the trial has been delayed while she recovered from an automobile accident that occurred in October 2006. As a result of her injuries she had undergone physical rehabilitation and was taking prescription medication that rendered her unable to withstand a trial.

BRONSON - The Levy County Sheriff's Office Drug Task Force has arrested six Bronson and Williston residents on 13 felony charges, one misdemeanor arrest and one warrant following a five-month undercover operation in the Bronson and Williston area. The team made undercover drug buys for crack cocaine, powder cocaine and pills that were recovered during an arrest, according to a Sheriff's Office press release.

BRONSON - The following persons were sentenced in criminal court in Levy County in the 8th Judicial Circuit.

Wayne L. Brewer, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, 1 year and 1 day with 26 days credit for time served and a $250 fine; and possession of paraphernalia, dropped.

Craig A Brown, bond hearing on charge of failing to re-register as required, bond denied.

The following persons were arrested by the Chiefland Police Department according to incident reports. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

A ruse by a woman claiming to be her twin failed, according to the incident report. Shannon Renee Riley, 25, Southeast 195th Street, Old Town, was stopped in the Winn Dixie parking lot on Highway 19 after changing lanes to make a left turn without first signaling and crossing a solid lane line.
