CROSS CITY – A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in the 1974 murder of James Norris and authorities are promising that tipsters can remain anonymous.
The last known contact Norris had with his family was a postcard mailed from Inglis. His body was unearthed two years later in northern Dixie County.
The Chiefland Police Department is looking for leads in a commercial burglary. On June 23, at approximately 5 a.m., an unknown person, or persons, broke into the Cash Munny Pawn Shop, located at 1821 N Young Blvd.
Chiefland now has its own version of a Cinderella story, though police say it wasn't glass slippers that a Bronson man left behind after a scuffle with a Chiefland man in his home last week.
To look at Levy County one could conclude things are pretty idyllic and women are safe.
An Inglis man was arrested Tuesday by Levy County Sheriff's Office deputies in attempted first degree murder and arson.
