The Levy County Sheriff’s Office is saddened to announce the loss of our Matron and Cook. Johnnie Mae Jackson. The woman known as "Mama" to all at the Sheriff's Office and jail went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, Jan. 18. She went peacefully while being surrounded by friends and family.

David Allen Christopher, 57, of Inglis, who failed in his attempt to set a woman on fire, but did succeed in setting furniture in their home on fire in June, has been sentenced on a second degree arson charge to 180 days in the Levy County Jail with credit for 149 days served and three years probation.
