  • Sheriff's Report & Most Wanted for the week of June 11

    The Levy County Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:

    •June 6, Tanya Marie Blaisdell, 43, Chiefland, DUI, possession of marijuana. Bond $4,000.

    •June 7, Julius Blake Jr., 52, Chiefland, battery commit felony, damage property $200 and under, burglary with assault.

    •June 5, Meagon Jaz-Lynn Brass, 24, Chiefland, two out of county warrants. No bond.

    •June 5, Raymond Eugene Brass, 23, Chiefland, two out of county warrants. $3,000.

  • Dog shooting morphs into sexual battery case

     A tip to the Levy County Sheriff's Office about a man shooting five dogs on his property led to a larger investigation into a violent history of domestic abuse,according to a sheriff's press release.

  • Inglis pair arrested in home invasion

    Two Inglis men were arrested in Levy County for their alleged connection to a home invasion on Tuesday in the Hernando area.

    Shawn Michael Burd, 37, and 23-year-old Tyler Ryan Baker are being held at the Levy County Jail on charges of home invasion and four counts of aggravated battery, according to a Citrus County Sheriff’s Office news release.

  • Father, son fugitives captured in Bronson

    Father and son fugitives wanted on 1st degree rape charges in Oklahoma were captured at the Bronson Motel in Bronson by the Levy County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshal’s Regional Fugitive Task Force on Thursday after officers spent two days tracking the pair.

    Darrell Dee Faver, 54, who is known for his survival skills, and his son, John Murray Faver, 31, a former correctional officer from Oklahoma fled that state shortly after the investigation began. They ultimately settled in Bronson.

    The Levy County Sheriff's Department reports the following arrests:

    •May 21, Terry Bugna, 49, Yankeetown, battery of officer, firefighter or EMT. $10,000.

    •May 18, Edward Franklin Cooper, 44, Trenton, out of county warrant.

    •May 23, Zachary Lars Dillon, 30, Chiefland, possession of marijuana not more than 20 grams, VOP. Bond $2,000.

    •May 18, Angelica Leigh Doty, 31, Chiefland, forgery causing prescription to be altered, possession controlled substance W/O prescription. ROR.

  • Warning issued on ex-city manager

    Former Chiefland City Manager Kevin Gay says he has no idea why a warning was posted about him to law enforcement agencies by a Florida Youth Ranch official who reported Gay was released from employment, and “was very upset when he left.”

    The warning said Gay has weapons and the ranch official “is just worried that Kevin is going to come back and do something to the camp.”

  • Cat in the Hat burglar still at large

     

    Chiefland police are searching for a real life cat burglar in connection with the robbery of the Suwannee Valley Veterinarian Clinic in Chiefland on Saturday night.

    Security footage shows a white male with a light-colored shirt and dark pants enter the building at 2580 North Young Boulevard. As the man turns to flee, it appears he was wearing a “Cat in the Hat” T-shirt.

  • Sex offender registers address

    Billy Joe Patterson registered as a Sexual Predator with the Levy County Sheriff’s Office. By Florida law Patterson is required to notify law enforcement whenever he changes addresses.

    Patterson was convicted in 2003 in Levy County for sexual battery by an adult on a child under 12; F.S. 794.011.

    Patterson has registered his change in address as: 14750 NE Hwy 27 Alt lot 4, Williston.

    • May 9, Cari Lynn Arganbright, 44, Ft. White, disorderly intoxication in public place. Bond $500.

    • May 6, Kevin William Barclay, 40, Newberry, armed trespassing, ROR.

    • May 9, Timothy Lawrence Bartzen, 36, Ft. White, disorderly intoxication in public place. Bond $500.

    • April 29, Diana Lynn Abshier, 41, Summerfield, fraud, insufficient funds check. Bond $1,000.

    • May 1, Jason Eric Adams, 20, Inglis, probation violation. No bond.

    • May 1, Markita Louise Bowers, 27, Bronson, six out of county warrants. No bond.

    • April 28, Samuel Scott Deloach, 44, Chiefland, felony DUI. No bond.

    • April 30, Daniel Lee Dinkins, 31, Glen St. Mary, two out of county warrants. Bond $35,000.
