    As another summer comes to an end, our children prepare for their next adventure in their Levy County School. On Monday they will begin this timeless ritual, their first day back. Children will face new challenges, making new friends, new teachers and for some, a new school.

  • New pick up and drop off system at CES

    There are two ways for parents to enter the school this year:

       1. If you want to drop off or pick up a child at the front of the school then you will need to come in through the main entrance on 4th Avenue and follow the white arrows all the way around the parking lot to the front of the building. This will be just a large loop to help pull in cars off the road.

  • Tony’s award-winning chowder goes national

    Tony’s Three-Time World Champion Clam Chowder launched into the food service industry on Friday, Aug 10, at the Florida Food Service annual summer Food Show in St. Augustine.

     Tony’s Chowder is now available in cases of six 51 oz. cans, and is being distributed by Florida Food Service, Inc. and City Line Distributors in New England. 

     Tony’s Chowder fans can also order a case for themselves at www.tonyschowder.com.

  • CAAA Turkey Shoot on Saturday

     The Chiefland Area Athletic Association will host a turkey shoot from 9 a.m. till 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, at Strickland Park in Chiefland. The family event will offer prizes, food, drink and T-shirts. The Deer Camp Expo will also be on-hand, offering bow adjustments, bow supplies, bow maintenance and helpful tips and pointers. The event supports the CAAA.

    n Aug. 9, Beech, David Lee, of Chiefland, Battery touch or strike. $20,000 bond.

    n Aug. 12, Boykin, Brandon Travon, of Archer, no valid license.

    n Aug. 11, Boykin William Tay, of Trenton, four counts grand theft less than $5,000, marijuana poss. more than 20 grams, Drug equipment, trespassing. $23,000 bond.

  • Friday night lights & peanut boil

       The Chiefland High School football team will kick of the 2012 season with a peanut boil on Friday, Aug, 17, at 7:30 p.m.. The event is free of charge and takes place at Wayne Pridgeon Stadium. 

      Put on by the Chiefland Quarterback Club, it will also serve as a welcoming to new principal Matt McLelland and football coach Aaron Richardson.
