FANNING SPRINGS - Opening bids were hot on April 2 at the 56th Annual Suwannee River Fair Livestock Show and Sale.
The Grand Champion Fat Steer, raised by Trenton Senior Future Farmers of America, went for $7 a pound.
The Reserve Grand Champion Fat Steer, raised by Corey Jerrels of Bronson (Kountry Kids 4-H), sold at $6 a pound.
The Grand Champion Feeder Steer, raised by Brianna Bishop of Gilchrist County (Flatwood Friends 4-H), showed a top bid of $8 a pound.
The Reserve Grand Champion Feeder Steer, raised by Kristin Hardin of Chiefland Sr. FFA, sold for $3.50.
